From Funen to the North Sea – Carbon Capture and Storage bring new jobs to Denmark.

Earlier this week, Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard visited Tipatek, a Funen-based manufacturer producing key components for Greensand Future.

Tipatek has hired 10 new employees to help deliver parts for the offshore CO₂ storage infrastructure – a clear example of how the green transition is creating new industrial jobs across Denmark.

"Fantastic to visit a group of companies in Odense that are contributing to one of the green transition’s most important projects: CCS. If Denmark is to lead on climate action, we must succeed with carbon capture and storage. It’s encouraging to see such strong efforts being made right here on Funen," says Lars Aagaard, Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities.

Greensand collaborates with a wide range of skilled suppliers – in Denmark and across Europe. These partnerships are essential to developing the infrastructure needed for large-scale CO₂ storage.

“When we talk about CCS, we’re often focused on geology and offshore operations. But none of it is possible without skilled suppliers and a strong industrial base which is crucial for turning climate ambition into real-world results,” adds Mads Gade Mads Gade, CEO INEOS Energy, Europe

Denmark is in a unique position to become a European hub for CO₂ storage. According to a report by Kraka, CCS could generate up to 9,000 jobs and contribute 50 billion DKK to the Danish economy – if Denmark secure just 5% of the expected European CCS-market.
