DNV certificate handed over for the Greensand storage site.

Earlier this year, DNV issued an independent site endorsement certificate covering the Nini Main and Nini East area in the Danish North Sea, confirming the site’s suitability for safe and permanent geological storage of CO₂.

During a recent visit, the certificate was formally handed over to Mads Gade, CEO INEOS Energy Europe, by Prajeev Rasiah Executive Vice President and Regional Director, Energy Systems – Northern Europe, and Mick Cramer Jakobsen, Vice President and Managing Director, DNV Denmark A/S.

The independent endorsement confirms that the Greensand site meets key requirements under EU and Danish legislation and international standards for CO₂ storage.

The endorsement also supports the long-term development of the Greensand storage site and enables future expansion of storage capacity in the INEOS-operated area of the Danish North Sea.
